After Hours Care
Emergencies
Call 911 for emergencies or go to the emergency department at ECU Health.
Students who are in crisis, or need mental health support, can find resources through the Center for Counseling and Student Development Urgent Support Services.
After Hours Nurse Advice Service
SHS offers a free after-hours advice service to enrolled students to help advise on non-emergent illnesses or injuries you experience. The service is available any time SHS is CLOSED (holidays, after-hours, during weather closures, etc). Students can speak with a registered nurse who can discuss symptoms and provide health advice or suggest more urgent care options if warranted by the health issue.
To access the after hours service:
- Call our main line, (252) 328-6841, and if SHS is CLOSED you will be directed to leave a message for the nurse call center. You can use this service from any phone, any time, as long as you are an enrolled ECU student.
