Health Sciences Campus – Student Health Center

Our second location is located on the second floor of the Health Sciences Student Center.

SHS cannot provide personal transportation. ECU Transit operates several buses both around campus and out to some student housing complexes that drop off at various campus locations. For current routes and schedules, visit the ECU Student Transit Authority. Students seeking service who do not feel they can walk need to arrange transportation via personal vehicle. Students too ill to come to either SHS by the aforementioned means should call 911 for EMS transport to the hospital.

Students with temporary or permanent mobility issues may qualify for Pirate Access, a transportation assistance program offered through ECU Transit. Visit the Pirate Access page for more information.

Patient ExamParking is limited and ECU Parking rules are enforced in the lots adjacent to both Student Health Services locations. At the Health Sciences Student Center, metered parking is available in the lot off MacGregor Downs Road.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are permitted in university facilities. Emotional support animals do not meet the definition of a service animal and are not permitted in either SHS facility per university policy.

When SHS is closed, you still have access to medical advice. Call 911 for emergencies, but if you just want to talk to a nurse about an issue, call (252) 328-6841 for instructions to use our free, 24 hr nurse line. You can also find self care information for treating your problem on our self care page, or you can submit a question to gotquestions@ecu.edu.

Be advised that occasionally during the semester the campus may experience inclement weather, division events, or other campus issues which may vary our hours of operation. We encourage you to call us at (252) 328-6841, check this web page, refer to signs on our doors, or follow our Twitter page (@ECU_SHS) for any announcements regarding changes in our normal operating schedule.
